Miha Males Gallery
The painter, publisher, editor, restorter and art dealer Miha Males was born in 1903 in Kamnik. On the 750th anniversary of Kamnik, he generously donated 2600 works of art to the town. Visitors can view them at the gallery bearing his name – the gallery was opened in a renovated burgher house at 2 Glavni trg. The collection contains all of his graphic work and a selection of his paintings and other materials. The painter`s work is presented in occasional exhibitions and accompanying catalogues. A selection of works is displayed from different periods of the artist's life, techniques and themes. It is possible to arrange the professional guidance for groups to go through the museum and gallery collections and also permanent or periodical exhibitions.
 
 
Majolika sales gallery
In the idyllic ambience of an old bourgeois apartment, the Majolika Sales Gallery offers Slovene domestic handicrafts and art, unique practical items and artistic paintings and sculptures. All items purchased will be elegantly gift-wrapped. It hosts various exhibitions of Slovenian and foreign artists.
 
 
Repanšek gallery
was established at the beginning of the 1980s. Sculptural works are presented in the open air and two or three exhibitions are held each year in the gallery. In addition to the regular gallery programme the gallery also features concerts, literary evenings, performances, meetings and discussions.
 

 
Zaprice Museum
Renaissance-Baroque Mansion Zaprice from the 16th Century houses the Inter-municipal Museum of Kamnik from 1961. During the time of Reformation, the Mansion was a place of refuge of Lutherans from Kamnik. Its present form has been maintained from late Baroque, when it was reconstructed. The Museum houses permanent and temporary exhibitions and other events. Permanent exhibitions include: ethnographic park of granaries from Tuhinjska valley, lapidary with preserved monuments of stone heritage, collection of Thonet’s “bentwood” furniture, exhibition on the rich history of Kamnik and Kamnik’s inhabitants from the 19th Century. Among other events, the castle also rents space for weddings. 
 

 
Sadnikar's Museum
Sadnikar's Museum is the first private museum in Slovenia, established in 1893 by Josip Nikolaj Sadnikar. The Museum, located at Šutna 33, houses over 1500 specimens. Medieval cold weapons, sacral objects, old keys, metal supports for farm boxes and doors, period furniture, porcelain, coloured and cut glass, pots, valuable paintings statues and other art works, books, needlework, national costume headdresses, clocks, lamps, signboards, painted beehive panels, and from archaeological findings, the skeleton of the cave bear. Today the Museum is still managed by Josip Nikolaj’s son, Mr. Niko Sadnikar, PhD, who will be pleased to guide you through the museum and offer numerous interesting facts.
 
  
 
Budnar's Museum House
is located in a settlement above Kamnik, in Zgornje Palovce.The house has been reconstructed, protected as cultural heritage and organized as a museum. The spacious house is equipped with a baker’s oven; opposite “bohkov's” corner you will be able to warm yourself next to the oven. The main attraction of the house is the black kitchen, where you can glimpse into the past and experience how our grandmothers lived and cooked. By prior arrangement, Budnar’s Museum House can even prepare a feast of home-made delicacies.
 
  
 
Preskar's Cottage
The only preserved specimen of the oval cottage from Velika planina is Preskar’s Herdsmen Cottage, which has been converted into a museum. The cottage has a characteristic oval shingled roof; otherwise it is without windows or a chimney. The internal space is divided into two parts: in the centre the herdsman’s quarters, which are surrounded by the shed for the cattle. Preskar’s cottage can be visited between June 24 and the first Sunday of September, on Saturdays or Sundays between 10.00 and 17.00. It is also possible to visit it as part of our guided tours.
 
 
Pygmy Rhinoceros Museum
In the beginning of the 20th Century a skeleton of a pygmy rhinoceros was found in Motnik, which is located in the valley of Motnisnica. Besides the life size rhinoceros sculptures, the museum also houses a geological section, since the rhinoceros is said to have inhabited this region 25 million years ago.
